FREMONT, Neb. – Kansas Wesleyan men's soccer dropped a 2-1 decision to Midland on Saturday night.
The Coyotes fell behind in the 11th minute when Midland took a 1-0 lead with a goal.
Ivis Gutierrez (SR/Los Angeles, Calif.) would net an equalizer in the 55th minute and the score would remain tied until the 81st minute.
Midland would take the lead on a penalty kick goal in the 81st and would hold on for the win.
Three Coyotes had two shots each to lead KWU. Oswaldo Diaz-Lopez (FR/Bryan, Texas) had six saves in goal.
KWU will take the next week off, preparing to face No. 2 ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan next Saturday in Bartlesville in the KCAC opener. The Coyotes then start a three match homestand on Sept. 22, welcoming Ottawa, Bellevue and Tabor to the Graves Family Sports Complex.
