Dorothy “Pat” Johnson died August 26th at her home. She was born November 1, 1936 to Lester and Bertha (Clark) Dains in Council Grove, Kansas.
She married Ellis Blount in 1953 and had two sons, Calvin and Bruce. They later divorced. She married Keith Gentry in October, 1959; they had two daughters, Shari and Brenda. Keith passed away June 1, 1989. She married Maurice “Sonny” Johnson in November, 1991. He passed away in 2015.
Pat greatly enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids sporting events. Over the last few years she liked spending time watching the wildlife in her back yard. Years ago she worked at her sister’s restaurants and worked when needed at the Kaw Mission Museum.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Keith and Sonny, brother David Dains, sister Della Lyons, grandson Joshua Matthews, great granddaughter Taylor Blount, and step granddaughter Stacey Johnson.
Pat is survived by her sons: Calvin (Pat) Blount, Bruce (Denise) Blount; daughters: Shari (Danny) Matthews, Brenda (Jeff) Blim; step sons: Bruce (Renee) Johnson and Michael Rex (Regina) Johnson; grandchildren: Tim (Tanya) Blount, Kim( Jeremy) Watson, Derrick Matthews, Matt Blim, Hannah (Justin) Brown; step grandchild, Brandi (Kalpesh) Ganatra; great grandchildren: Tori (Kolby) Washburn, TyAnn Blount, Treyton Blount, Kayla Watson, Kristen Watson, Jeremiah Watson, Baby Boy Brown due any day; step great grandchildren: Grace Ganatra, Lindsey White, Carter and Colby Bremer, Jameson and Jackson Johnson, Charlotte, Elliott, and Adeline Johnson.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Thrift Store and sent in care of Sawyer Funeral Home, Box 273, Council Grove, KS 66846.
