Two juveniles arrested after allegedly fleeing from police in a stolen vehicle

Two juveniles were arrested after allegedly stealing one of their mother's vehicle and fleeing from police.

According to the Salina Police Department on early Monday morning at around 3:45 am, an officer attempted a traffic stop on a gray 2015 Nissan Altima for allegedly failing to signal a turn at the 500 block of Wilson.

Reportedly, the driver failed to comply and fled. A vehicle pursuit then began and continued throughout various parts of Central Salina, reaching top speeds of 98 mph. 

During the pursuit, the suspect hit two parked vehicles and struck a power pole. The vehicle eventually became disabled in the 100 block of S. Phillips.

Afterwards, two juvenile boys exited the vehicle and ran away. SPD authorities later located the juveniles around the area and arrested both suspects, aged 15 & 16.

SPD stated that both suspects 'stole one of their mother's vehicle.'

Both suspects were arrested on the following requested charges:

Felony flee and elude, cited with numerous traffic offenses, leaving scene of an accident, Interference with Law Enforcement and Deprivation of Property.
