MCPHERSON COUNTY —Four people died in an accident just before 12:30a.m. Saturday in McPherson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Honda CRV driven by Jacob F. Aich, 36, Hutchinson was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 135 two miles south of Kansas 4 Highway.
The SUV struck a 2013 Toyota Rav4 driven by Lydia P. Barton, 31, Wichita, head-on in the passing lane.
Aich, Barton and two passengers in the Toyota, a 13-year-old boy and a 7-year-old boy both of Monument, Colorado were pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the Toyota were transported to Sedgwick County Forensic Science. Aich was transported to Frontier Forensics.
EMS transported a passenger in the Honda Kirkland A. Byers, 29, Hutchinson, to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of serious injuries. The KHP had incomplete seat belt usage information.
