The Saline County Road and Bridge Department plans to close part of Smolan Road for culvert work.
Smolan Road between S. Fairchilds Road and S. Centennial Road will be closed to through traffic beginning Wednesday for replacement of cross-road drainage culverts. Weather permitting, the roadway should be opened by Oct. 22, the department noted.
Motorists are advised to allow a few extra minutes of travel time to reach their destinations. Local and emergency traffic will be provided access to private property within the sections of closed road at all times but only from the side upon which the property lies.
