SEWARD, Neb. - Kansas Wesleyan Women's Indoor Track and Field competed in the final meet of the 2024 calendar year on Saturday at the Concordia Early Bird inside Walz Fieldhouse. The Coyotes came away with more outstanding performances heading into the semester break.
Joni Schroeder won the mile run with a time of 5:32.05 and Makayla Little was second with a time of 5:58.54.
Lauryn Mikkelson was third in the 600m run wit ha time of 1:46.05 and Ava Kenyon was fourth in 1:46.75.
The 4x400m relay team of Lauryn Mikkelson, Joni Schroeder, Ava Kenyon and Mayce Russell set a new school record with a time of 4:15.19 while finishing fourth.
Emma McAlister was fifth in the 1000m run with a time of 3:30.33.
Mayce Russell was ninth in the 400m with a time of 65.07 seconds.
Elizabeth Stout was ninth in the shot put with a mark of 11.87m, and Aunisty McNeal was 15th with a mark of 10.72m.
Markyla Shaw was 14th in the long jump with a mark of 4.70m.
Markyla Shaw finished 17th in the 60m dash with a time of 8.30 seconds.
Markyla Shaw finished 21st in the in the 200m with a time of 27.96 seconds.
Elizabeth Stout was 20th in the weight throw with a mark of 12.36m, Roselyn Torres was 28th with a mark of 10.80m and Aunisty McNeal was 31st with a mark of 9.59m.

Wyatt Johnson won the 800m with a time of 1:56.48 as the Coyotes went 1-2-3 in the race. Triston Cottone was second in 1:57.36, Ty Davidson was third in 1:57.50, Nicolas Martinez was seventh in 2:01.66, Nate Chavez was ninth in 2:08.07 and Will Childers was 12th in 2:18.43.
Zamari Burrell finished third in the finals with a time of 6.96 seconds. Kean Dinkel just missed the finals with a time of 7.03 seconds in ninth, Tyler Fontenot was 21st with a time of 7.282 seconds, and DeJaylon Beal was 24th with a time of 7.31 seconds.
In the 4x400m relay the team of Andrew Smith, Wyatt Johnson, Triston Cottone and Ty Davidson finished third in 3:29.17, and the team of Trevor Peal, Nicolas Martinez, Evan Pearce and Nate Chavez finished fifth in 3:35.13.
Evan Pearce was fourth in the 1000m with a time of 2:40.26, Landon Steeger was sixth in 2:49.01, Brodie Bradshaw was eighth in 2:53.54 and Tim Parish was ninth in 2:58.55.
Landon Steeger was fourth in the mile with a time of 4:42.75, Tim Parish was fifth in 4:46.16, and Brodie Bradshaw was ninth in 5:00.16.
Keegan Lott was sixth in the shot put with a mark of 14.94m, Blake Broussard was 23rd with a mark of 11.37m, Riley Garcia was 24th with a mark of 10.31m and Austin Baird was 25th with a mark of 9.92m.
Zamari Burrell was sixth in the 200m with a time of 22.85 seconds, DeJaylon Beal was 19th with a time of 23.77, Andrew Smith was 20th in 23.88, Tyler Fontenot was 23rd in 24.217 seconds and Trevor Peal was 24th in 24.218 seconds.
Kean Dinkel was sixth in the 400m with a time of 53.87 seconds and Cayden Purcell was eighth in 54.40 seconds.
Keegan Lott was 12th in the weight throw with a mark of 15.29m and Austin Baird was 26th with a mark of 11.16m.
Cayden Purcell was 13th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.51 seconds.
Ian Doss was 15th in the 3000m with a time of 9:27.78 and Jack Horacek was 22nd with a time of 9:55.35.
Riley Garcia was 24th in the long jump with a mark of 5.33m.
The Coyotes will return to action on January 11, heading to Crete, Nebraska for the Scott Nisely Memorial Classic.
