Gladys C. Anderson, Lindsborg

Gladys Charlene Anderson, 96, of Lindsborg, passed Monday, February 7, 2022 at Bethany Home Assisted Living. Gladys was born November 15, 1925, at home near Crystal Lake, IA. She was the daughter of the late Jens Christian and Esther Evelyn (Johnson) Mortensen.
Gladys married Charlie Raymond Anderson on December 26, 1949 at the home where she was born near Crystal Lake, IA.
Gladys was a graduate of Grinnell College in Grinnell Iowa. She worked as a teacher in Iowa and New Mexico from 1945 until 1972, when she and her family moved to Lindsborg.
Gladys was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Lindsborg.
She co-founded their business, Anderson Butik, with her husband Charlie in 1973.
She is survived by her sons John Anderson (Patricia) of Flora Vista, NM, and Dean Anderson of Lindsborg, KS; grandchildren Donald Anderson, of Mesilla, NM, Jeff Anderson (Jenifer Zamora), of Albuquerque, NM, Sara Anderson, of Gothenburg, Sweden, and Emma Anderson (Chad Uhl), of Stockholm, Sweden; great-grandchildren Axel Anderson and Miriam Anderson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Gladys is preceded in death by her parents; husband Charlie; brother John Mortensen; sister Laura O’Mara; and nephew Robert O’Mara.
Burial services have taken place and a memorial service will be announced and held in May.
