Della Mae (Meek) Ellwood
July 13, 1935 ~ April 25, 2024

Della Mae (Meek) Ellwood,  88 of Windom, KS, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Sandstone Heights Nursing Home.  Della was born July 13, 1935, at home in McPherson County, KS, the daughter of Jesse and Rose Meek of Windom, KS.  Della was united in marriage to Galland E. Ellwood on September 1, 1953.  This union was blessed with four children.             

Survivors include three children: Randall (Randy) Ellwood (Nancy), Rhonda Fortenberry, Krystal (Krysti) Bergkamp (Jason), all of Windom, KS; nine grandchildren: Derek Ellwood (Megan), Leslie Block (Tristan), Jenna Adams (Steve), Callie Newman (Justin), Justin Prindle (Krista), Josh Prindle (Michelle), Jamie Newton (Zach), Jaylie Bergkamp, Kyler Bergkamp;  ten great-grandchildren:  Kate, Addyson, Jordyn, Isla, Andrew, Kamdyn, James, Acelee, Brecklyn, and Rory; numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces whom she loved. 

She was a longtime member of the Windom community and the Windom church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Galland E. Ellwood, son, Michael (Mike) Ellwood (1954-1966),  her parents, Jesse and Rose Meek,  her sons-in-law, Nick Prindle and David Fortenberry, her great-grandson, Calum Block, and all her siblings and their spouses,  Lawrence, Gene, Inez, and Carl.   

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Stockham Family Funeral Home, McPherson.  A graveside service will be held at 9:30 AM, Monday, May 6, at the Windom Cemetery.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, Monday, at the McPherson church of Christ with Minister Kenny Graham officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sandstone Heights Nursing Home, Little River, in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
