Advanced voting by mail is under way for Nov. 2 general election

Advanced voting by mail has begun and voting at the Saline County Clerk's Office is scheduled to begin on Monday for the Nov. 2 general election.

If you would like to request an advanced ballot by mail, you have until Oct. 26 to apply. You can find an advanced ballot by mail application on the Saline County Election Office webpage or the Kansas Secretary of State's Voter Information webpage.

If you would like to vote in advance at the Saline County Clerks Office, you can do so beginning Monday. The office, room 215 of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash Street, is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Additionally, the Saline County Clerk's Office will have special Saturday advanced voting hours on Oct. 30. You can vote that day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Advanced voting in the Saline County Clerk's Office ends at noon on Nov. 1.

What's on the ballot?

Registered voters in Salina, Assaria, Brookville, Gypsum, New Cambria, and Smolan will have the opportunity to vote for city commissioners or mayors and city councilmembers.

Additionally, registered Saline County voters who live in Salina USD 305, Southeast of Saline USD 306, Ell-Saline USD 307, Bennington USD 240, Solomon USD 393, and Lindsborg USD 400 will have the opportunity to vote for board of education members.

There also are two special district board elections: Central Kansas Extension District No. 3 and Dayton Drainage District.

Registered voters in Salina also will have the opportunity to weigh in on a petition-driven proposed ordinance that would limit the Salina City Commission's ability to impose restrictions on businesses or citizens in response to public emergencies.
