Robert B. “Bob” McDowell, 75, of Hutchinson, passed away March 4, 2024, at his home. He was born January 13, 1949 to James and Lena (Standley) McDowell, in Pratt.

Bob retired from Panhandle Eastern after 31 years of service. Some of his accomplishments during his life were cabinet maker and owning his own upholstery business. Bob loved restoring old cars and doing woodworking projects. More than anything he loved to spend time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

Bob is survived by: his wife, Ginny McDowell; sons, Terry and Jeremy McDowell; daughter Angela Branscom (Steve); Ginny’s daughters, Bobbie Bascue, Kristie Wichert, and partner, Trevor Blake; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; brother, James McDowell; sisters, Shirley Woodard and Sherry McDowell; and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 1 pm Friday, March 8, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 9 am to 8 pm on Thursday with family present from 5 to 7 pm at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the ASPCA or Traditions Hospice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
