
Devon L. Regnier, Lawrence, Kansas resident, age 36, entered into rest on Saturday, April 5, 2025, in Concordia, Kansas.
He was born on May 4, 1988, in Beloit Kansas to Ronny and Sally (Morgan) Regnier.
He graduated from LaCrosse High School in LaCrosse, Kansas, in 2007, where he was a member of the football and track teams and was nominated as Homecoming King. He later attended Cloud County Community College in Concordia, Kansas.
Devon married Jessica Lynn Ortega on May 28, 2016, in Lawrence, Kansas. The couple were high school sweethearts, having met when Devon was the "new kid" at LaCrosse High School. He quickly made his mark, befriending everyone and building strong relationships with his peers and teachers. When he wasn't in class, Devon could often be found in the weight room or joking around with friends.
Devon and Jessica later settled in Lawrence, KS, where they created a life full of memories and adventures. Together, they shared their home with two beloved dogs, whom Jessica says “only listen to Devon.”
Devon worked as a Utility Operator for the City of Lawrence, Kansas, for the past 9 years. He was a highly respected employee who created lifelong friendships with his colleagues.
He was a passionate weightlifter, music enthusiast, avid gamer, and the best Uncle Devon to his nieces and nephews. With an incredible sense of humor, Devon could turn anything into a joke. His smile and contagious laugh will always be remembered.
He is survived by his wife Jessica of the home in Lawrence, KS; father, Ronny Regnier, Linwood, KS; mother, Sally Williams, Kinsley, KS; two sisters, Kalyn Regnier, LaCrosse, KS; Clarissa Rowley, Topeka, KS; and his brother, Mikel Jerdoe.
Devon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leroy and Francis Regnier;
Marilyn and Jesse “J.C.” Morgan; and his cousin Darren Achterberg.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 9 am-2 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 1-2 pm at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas.
A Celebration of Life service for Devon will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia, Kansas with Pastor Dwight Whitead officiating.
In lieu of memorials, his family asks that we live life to the fullest and seek out what brings us joy and happiness.
