LINDSBORG – Kansas Wesleyan women's tennis fell to the Bethany Swedes 6-1 on Thursday at the Lindquist Tennis Center.
Wesleyan's point in the match came on a walkover win by Britley Butler (FR/Wagoner, Okla.) at No. 6 singles.
In doubles Bethany would win all three flights to take the doubles point. Jahzuena Bradshaw-Douglas and Piper Marquez beat Michaela Crowe (JR/Overland Park, Kan.) and Kaitlyn Wrye (SO/Olathe, Kan.) 6-0; Maria Mistereck and Tia Gregory beat Eliza Camp (SO/Winfield, Kan.) and Kristi Henderson (JR/Acton, Calif.) 6-3; and Ana Sofia Castillo Paz and Riley Ahlstedt beat Kyra Nolan (FR/Tribune, Kan.) and Butler 6-0.
Bethany won the five contested singles flights as well. Bradshaw-Douglas beat Crowe 4-6, 6-3, 7-6; Castillo Paz beat Henderson 6-3, 6-2; Mistereck beat Camp 7-6, 6-3; Marquez beat Nolan 6-1, 6-1; and Gregory beat Wrye 6-3, 6-0.
The Coyotes are back in action on Saturday as they head to Winfield to take on Southwestern at the T.H. Vaughn Tennis Center.
