KWU has 8 Daktronics NAIA Men's Basketball Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced its 2023 Daktronics NAIA Men's Basketball Scholar-Athletes, and Kansas Wesleyan placed eight student-athletes on the list.

Those named as NAIA Scholar-Athletes included: Gabe PhillipsTrey DuffeyJackson MaupinAaron KingRyan WeberJacob GormleyJun Murdock and Easton Hunter.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.

The 2023 list features 542 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. Oklahoma Wesleyan led the way with 14 honorees while Midland (Neb.) followed just behind with 13.
