WICHITA, Kan. - LaMyah Ricks of Kansas Wesleyan has earned the KCAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week honor the conference office announced Monday. Student-athletes were selected for their performances from Nov. 25-Dec. 1 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.
Ricks was excellent defensively for the Coyotes in KWU's 77-59 win over Bellevue (Neb.). She was instrumental in limiting Bellevue's guards, specifically guarding both Gabby Moore and Josias Mickens from the Bruins, and forced the duo into a combined 6 of 23 shooting from the field (26 percent), and caused four turnovers. She had two steals in the game, eight rebounds, and blocked a shot.
