Charles William Meisinger

Charles’ life began on September 19, 1938, in Marion. He was the son of William Menno Meisinger and Nila K. (Schlotthauer) Meisinger. He graduated from Marion High School in 1956 and earned a bachelor's degree at Kansas State University in Electrical Engineering. Charles served his country in the United States Navy from 1961 through 1965 as a radioman. Charles worked at Hughes Aircraft in California after the service.  He then came back to Kansas to farm and later worked as an electrical/computer engineer for the Bradbury Company in Moundridge, he retired in 2003.  Charles started a lifelong hobby of amateur radio in 1957 and was the treasurer of the Newton Amateur Radio club.  He began tracing his family genealogy in 1970 and continued to add to the family research. He was united in marriage to Ruth E. (Jones) Meisinger on January 1, 1989, in Abilene, KS. Charles is survived by his stepdaughter Gina (Shawn) Priem Millard of Robins, IA; stepson Greg B. Warnica of Marion, KS; foster son Robin (Melinda) Ebersole of Newton, KS; foster daughter Tammy Voorhees of Hutchinson, KS; step grandchildren Samuel Millard, Rachel Millard; foster grandchildren Payten Ebersole, Taylor Ebersole; Kate (Tommy) Voorhees; foster great-granddaughter June Voorhees; brother Richard (Phoebe) Meisinger as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Charles passed away on May 15, 2024, near Goessel. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth, and stepdaughter Kim Bryant. His family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Yazel Megli Funeral Home, Marion where his funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. He will be laid to rest in Marion Cemetery.
