ABILENE -- Memorial Health System (MHS) has announced the acquisition of evolving technology for its Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine unit in Abilene

MHS recently received two new Kelvi units to treat patients. Kelvi units are used across professional sports leagues, all levels of collegiate sports, and clinics and training facilities across the United States. This evolving technology has only on the market for just over a year.

The unit provides heating, cooling, and alternating heating/cooling, along with compression, prior to or after exercise, for pain relief and swelling reduction. No more need for using ice or heating pads.

One unit will be used to treat patients at MHS Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine, located at Memorial Hospital, and the other unit will be used in the athletic training room at Abilene High School where Justin Clark, athletic trainer, will treat Abilene High School student-athletes.
