UPDATE: Severe t-storm warning allowed to expire

UPDATE 9:30 p.m. Saturday:

The severe thunderstorm warning for northern McPherson County, southeastern Ellsworth County, and Saline County has been allowed to expire.

UPDATE 8:55 p.m. Saturday:

The area of the severe thunderstorm warning has changed. It now includes 

Northern McPherson County

Southeastern Ellsworth County

Saline County

At 8:52 p.m. CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Culver to near Lindsborg to Lyons, moving east at 50 mph.

70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail are forecast.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 9:30 p.m. Saturday for the following counties in our area.

Northern McPherson County

Lincoln County

Ellsworth County

Saline County

At 8:23 p.m. CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Barnard to near Ellsworth to six miles south of Great Bend, moving east at 35 mph.

70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail are forecast.

This includes the following highways.

Interstate 135 between mile markers 67 and 95.

Interstate 70 between mile markers 211 and 266.
