A Salina woman with multiple active warrants was arrested after she allegedly tried to steal a lighter from a dollar store on Monday.
Officers were dispatched to the Dollar General, 2000 S. Ninth Street, for the report of a theft in progress. Once there, an officer located Kelli Shumaker, 38, of Salina, inside the store, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.

An employee reported seeing Shumaker putting a $4 lighter in her jacket.
Forrester said that Shumaker was known to have multiple active warrants, including the following.
●A warrant from Saline County District Court for failure to appear
●Two Salina Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear
●Three Salina Municipal Court warrants for probation violation
Shumaker was arrested on the warrants. While she was being searched, officers found the lighter and 1.8 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, Forrester said. Shumaker did not have a drug tax stamp for the substance.
In addition to the warrants, Shumaker also was arrested on the following requested charges, Forrester said.
●Attempted theft
●Possession of an opiate
●Possession of drug paraphernalia
●No drug tax stamp
