After the Salina Family YMCA was awarded Praesidium Accreditation®, a prestigious honor that publicly demonstrates the organization has worked to achieve the highest industry standards in abuse prevention, staff of the Y gave their comments on the accreditation.

Senior Director of Youth Development, Marti Higdon said the accreditation gives those come to the Y "extra reassurance" the facility is a safe place to be.
Higdon works with the youth on a daily basis and she stated she is the "Praesidium Guardian," meaning she earned her own personal accreditation in the past. Her key takeaways were that it is highly important to be observant and connected.
Marketing Director, Zach Gilig commented he hopes this accreditation will reach out to other families and people of the surrounding area to join in on the safe, fun and welcoming environment the Salina YMCA provides.
