Charles Daniel "Chuck" Baker

  Charles Daniel "Chuck" Baker, 75, of McPherson, Kansas passed away at 12:01 a.m., Wednesday, November 25th, 2020 peacefully at his residence.

Charles was born in Colby, Kansas on October 3, 1945, a son of Albert Preston and Lola Elise (Daniels) Baker.

Chuck attended the Monument schools and graduated from Monument High School, Monument, Kansas in 1963. He attended Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas and Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kansas. He also took Continuing Education Classes from Life Bible College.

He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church Page City, Kansas and later established his membership with Foursquare Gospel Church, McPherson, Kansas.

Through the years Chuck managed a Texaco Service Station in McPherson, sold Lifetime Cookware, was a farmer, pastor, coach, owned and operated a lawn mowing business, was custodian for U.S.D. 418, Foursquare Chaplain and retired as Pastor of the New Life Foursquare Gospel Church in 2016.

Chuck enjoyed ministering to anyone and everyone. He loved sports, especially KU Basketball, Dodgers Baseball and Kansas City Chiefs. But his favorite thing was spending time with his family. He volunteered at Elyria Christian School and was known as the "Oreo Man". He spent countless summers at camp Pomme de Terre serving however he could while washing thousands of dishes and touching thousands of lives,

Charles D. "Chuck" Baker was united in marriage to Marlette "Pinky" Nordstrom on November 7, 1965 in McPherson, Kansas. This union was blessed with the birth of three children. Charles Jr, "Charlie", Marla, and Candice. Chuck was united in marriage to Andrea Gail Harris on December 29, 1970 in McPherson, Kansas. The couple established their first home together in McPherson. They would have celebrated their 50 year anniversary in a month. This union was blessed with the birth of five children, Danyel, Julie, Alicia, Nathan, and Rachel.

He is survived by his faithful wife Andrea Baker, of McPherson; his children, Charlie Baker and his wife Jamie, of Goodland, Kansas, Marla Wartell and her husband Ken, of Aurora, Colorado, Candice Adamson and her husband Kent, of Westminster, Colorado, Danyel Mills and her husband Matt, of Topeka, Kansas, Julie Rohret and her husband Jeremy, of McPherson, Kansas, Alicia Lievense and her husband Jeff, of La Crescenta, California, Nathan Baker and his wife Sarah, of Overland Park, Kansas and Rachel Barnard and her husband Tyler, of McPherson, Kansas; his sister Janyce Hurtt, of Northglenn, Colorado. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, Maranatha, Seth, Gabriella, Jack, Jake, Balin, Fallon, Lincoln, Knightleigh, Everleigh, and one on the way.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gary and Terry Baker and sister, Gwen.

A private family memorial service will be held at New Life Foursquare Gospel Church, McPherson, Kansas with Pastor Steve Gowin and Pastor Rachel Barnard officiating.

A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
