PEABODY - A minor earthquake rattled part of southern Marion County Sunday night.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a 2.2 magnitude earthquake struck at 10:35 p.m. Sunday northwest of Peabody. The quake was centered southwest of the Jade Road-110th Street intersection.
