Both drivers were injured in a two-vehicle accident in central Salina Monday morning.

Mark Shaw, 56, of Solomon, was eastbound on W. Crawford Street in a 2012 Ford F150 when he ran a red light at the intersection with S. Ninth Street just before noon Monday, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. The pickup was struck by a southbound 2020 Ford Expedition driven by Jessica Petro-Sakuma, 34, of Salina.

Shaw suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center, Forrester said. A 10-year-old girl who also was in the pickup was not injured, he added. Petro-Sakuma suffered minor injuries but was not transported.

The pickup sustained front-end driver-side damage and the SUV sustained front-end damage. Both were towed from the scene.

Shaw was cited for disobeying a traffic signal, Forrester said.
