The Knights would face Holcomb in the 3rd place game of the Trojans Classic and fall 56-49 in a close defeat. The Lady Knights faced off with Moundridge defeating them 47-41 in the championship.
Boys: Sacred Heart 49 Holcomb 56
The boys would start things off in the 3rd place game in Hillsboro. The Knights would keep it close in the first quarter tied up with Holcomb 10-10, Will had all 10 for the Knights in the quarter. Holcomb would make it hard defensively for the Knights to pull away, the Knights would hold a 24-19 lead at intermission.
Holcomb would come out of the half firing from the 3-point line backed by Korbin Johnson and the Longhorns would lead 39-35 going into the final quarter of play. Turnovers and rebounds would hurt the Knights in the 56-49 defeat.
In the defeat the Knights were led by Will Tuttle he finished with 24.
The Knights finish the Trojan Classic 4th place and move to 15-2 overall. They look to bounce back on Tuesday as they host Southeast of Saline in a league shootout from Sacred Heart.
Girls: Sacred Heart 47 Moundridge 41
The Lady Knights knew from the start what was at stake tonight. The Lady Knights though found themselves in a defensive battle in the first, down 9-5. Moundridge forced the Lady Knights to shoot from the outside and make it hard to get things rolling, down 3 at intermission 20-17.
The Lady Knights would make first half changes of a lifetime. Sacred Heart came out of the locker room with a chip on their shoulder and Sacred Heart would force turnovers and turn them into points. Sacred Heart would force 5 turnovers in the third quarter and take the lead at the end of the third 31-28. Sacred Heart would force the ball to the rim and get the Lady Wildcats into foul trouble. The Lady Knights would go 11-15 from the free throw line and be crowned the Trojan Classic Champions with a 47-41 victory.
The Lady Knights were led in scoring by Emmy Lee(16), Addie Lee(15), Skylar Douglas(12).
The Lady Knights move to 14-3 and will face Southeast of Saline in a huge league showdown from Sacred Heart on Tuesday.
