October 2, 1931 - August 23, 2021

Lawrence "Deke" Miller, previously of Oakley, passed away August 23, 2021 in Salina, KS.  He was born October 2, 1931, at the family farm in Rush Center, KS.  He graduated from LaCrosse High School and served in the U.S. Marines from 1952 through 1955.  He was predeceased by his wife, Cherie. They were married 67 years.  He was a great guy who will be fondly remembered by many.  He was a loving and giving husband, dad, grandad, and friend.

He is survived by daughters Sue (Allen) Mendenhall, of Louisville, OH and Chandra (Robert) Kruse of Salina, KS, grandchildren Tandi (Matt) Knepper, Windham, OH, Trish (Greg) Dawson, Louisville OH, Dustin (Ashton Kobbeman) Kruse, Milford, KS, Derek Kruse, Jacksonville, FL, Carissa (Chandler) Brass, Stockton, KS, great-grandchildren Cody Knepper, Kent, OH, Tyler (Jaclyn Chateau) Knepper, University Place, WA, Wes Dawson, Louisville, OH, Clayton Dawson, Louisvill, OH,  great-great-grandchildren Alexia Knepper, Philadelphia, PA, Emily Huehl, Milford, KS, Brooklyn Brass, Stockton, KS, and twins George and Vita Knepper of University Place, WA.  In addition he is survived by two sisters, Ada Ellison, Seminole, TX and Ann Chamlee, Ennis TX,  many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
