Two small quakes more than a county apart shook parts of Saline and Dickinson counties in the last 24-hours.

According to the Kansas Geological Survey, a magnitude 2 quake struck at 11:14 p.m. Monday in far western Saline County west of the Smoky Hill Weapons Range and southwest of Brookville. It was centered just east of the Saline-Ellsworth county line near W. Parsons Road.

Then, at 3:52 a.m., a 2.2 magnitude quake shook part of Dickinson County east-northeast of Hope. The quake was centered just north of Kansas Highway 4 approximately three miles east of Hope.
