September 13, 1947 - September 25, 2022

Delbert E. Mendenhall, age 75, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at his home in Formoso, KS.  He was born on September 13, 1947, in Concordia, KS to Everett T. and Frances V. (Burch) Mendenhall, Sr.

Delbert attended Concordia schools.  He worked numerous jobs in the Concordia area including C&E, Levendofsky Dairy, ABB Raymond, Mendenhall Tree Service and Mendenhall Farms. 

Delbert never knew a stranger and loved working outside.  He often helped his brother-in-law Mike build fence and cut trees.  Delbert’s true passions were hunting and fishing, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren.   He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and lifetime member of the NRA.

He is survived by his current wife Lila, Formoso; daughter Nichole Ham (Matthew), Simpson; sons Brian Mendenhall (Renee), Oklahoma City, OK, Jesse Mendenhall and Casey Mendenhall, Glasco; stepdaughter Evelyn Hayes, Formoso; former wife Marsha (Appleby) Smith Glasco; brothers Raymond Mendenhall (Bersita), and Calvin Mendenhall (Paula), both of Concordia; 10 grandchildren, one step-grandchild; three great grandchildren and two nephews and two nieces.

He was preceded by his parents, and brothers James and Everett, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with Rev. Daniel Waide officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, KS.  Visitation will be Wednesday, September 28, 2022, from 1-8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. all at the funeral home. 

The family suggests memorials be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
