The only textured hair care service shop in Salina has recently opened and currently provides 100% natural products to its customers.
'Blessed and Highly Favored (BHF) Beauty Supply' provides 100% natural hair care products with braiding services and is open and running for business.
Owner, Bre Reddin started BHF because she noticed there was a “lack of hair care options for the textured hair care community” in Salina. She realized most people in Salina were traveling as far as Kansas City to receive textured hair care services, and Reddin wanted to make a change after that.
“I just wanted people to have access here (Salina) after seeing the empty void that needed to be filled,” said Reddin.
Before BHF opened, Reddin stated that she was thinking about opening her own business for the last 2 years. She describes what took her so long to start it, was due to a “lack of confidence in herself." Reddin then came to the realization that there was 'never going to be a perfect moment and to just jump on the opportunity.'
“I knew that God placed this on my heart to do this and I did not want this blessing to pass me up,” said Reddin.
Reddin also had many life changes before BHF opened. Reddin was in the process of getting married, buying a house with her husband Zack Reddin and was looking around for awhile for a location.
“He’s (God) has given me this drive and passion to do this,” said Reddin “This is definitely something He (God) has blessed me with by allowing me to use my ability to be creative and be a businesswoman."
Reddin wants her customers to expect to find natural hair care products such as shampoo and conditioners. BHF also supplies braiding services with braiders as well as providing wigs, hair oils and more.
According to Reddin, BHF is a 100% natural hair care shop and there are no chemical products.
Reddin was also won 3rd place in the 2025 "Charlie Walker Pitch Challenge," where she received $3,000 for her business.
Reddin thanked God, her mother, her friend Kayla, "brother in Christ" Zay, her husband Zack Reddin and her church community for BHF.
BHF is located on 1825 S. 9th St. and operates on Monday - Friday from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, Saturdays from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm.
