A Salina man who was struck by a car on Christmas Eve is out of intensive care, and charges have been requested for the driver of the vehicle that allegedly hit him.
Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning that Frank Cooper, Jr., 49, of Salina, remains in Via Christi in Wichita, but is no longer in ICU.
Cooper received life threatening injuries when he was struck by a car in the 500 block of S. Ohio Street on the evening of Dec. 24. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and the Salina Police Department asked for the public's assistance in identifying the driver of the car. On Dec. 26, the department announced that the vehicle and the driver had been identified.

Forrester said this morning that Daniel Woodruff, 62, of Salina, was arrested on Friday at his residence on the following requested charges.
●Felony failing to stop at an accident resulting in great bodily harm
●Driving while suspended
