The Southeast of Saline Trojans turned in another top-notch performance at the Marion relays on Friday as the boy's team made it back-to-back meet wins and the girl’s team surged to a third-place finish.

On the boy's side it was another dominant showing for the all-state duo of Chase Poague and Dylan Sprecker who swept their events en route to five gold medals.

Sprecker won the 1600 and 3200 meter runs handily while Poague cleaned up in the 100-meter dash, 110m high hurdles, and 300m intermediate hurdles.

Tate Nurnberg added the sixth and final individual win for the Trojans, taking the top spot in the high jump, followed by Luke Obermeyer to make it a 1-2 SES finish.

On the field side of things, Jude Golden added a silver finish in the javelin throw, and in the sprints, Connor Caselman claimed bronze in the 200.

As always, the Trojans flexed their strength and depth in the distance runs with Cayden Walker and Joel Kejr taking second and third behind Sprecker in the 3200 for an all-purple podium.

Levi Allen brought home bronze in the 1600 and Drake Augustine did the same in the 800 to round out individual podium placers for Southeast.

The Trojan relay teams looked strong as well finishing second in the 4x8, and third in the 4x1 and 4x400.

On the girl’s side, it was another dominant effort for Jentrie Alderson who comfortably won the 800 and 1600.

Ashley Prochazka added a gold medal to the Trojan tally with the fastest time in the 3200, followed by freshman phenom Abby Commerford who made it another 1-2 finish for SES.

Ivie Douglas continued to flex her muscle in the throwing events taking second in the shot put, and third in the discus throw before the 4x800 meter relay team claimed the final medal of the day with a second-place finish.

It will be a short rest for both Trojan track teams as SES prepares for the Ellsworth Invitational on Tuesday, April 12.
