NEW ORLEANS, La. – For the second time this season and second time in his career, Cloud County Community College sophomore cross country runner Habtamu Geta has earned United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association NJCAA Division I Runner of the Week.
The award comes following Geta’s performance at the 2020 University of Nebraska Kearney Invitational on Friday evening where he was able to come away with medalist honors in the 8K race with a time of 25:07.30. Friday’s performance marked the third time in four races that Geta has won this season with all four races coming as top-two finishes. Geta also earned USTFCCCA NJCAA Division I Runner of the Week honors on September 29th as the Houston, Texas, native has now earned six different Runner of the Week accolades during the 2020 season.
