The National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita has issued a flood watch for Marion and McPherson Counties.
The flood watch will be in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning.
Widespread rainfall, some locally heavy, will affect the area. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with locally higher amounts will be possible, NWS noted.
The heavy rainfall will likely result in within bank rises on area creeks and rivers. Minor lowland flooding and river flooding will be possible.
