Katherine Lucille Brubaker Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information (carlsonfh.net)

March 17, 1931 - July 14, 2021

Katherine “Katie” Lucille Brubaker, 90, of Salina, passed away July 14, 2020. She was born March 17, 1931 in Salina, Kansas to Harold Buttermore and Sylvia Pihl.

Katie has worn many hats in her life. She worked with her first husband in his business. She was an elevator operation at the United Building. She was an account clerk with Gamble-Robinson for 20 years. What people will remember her for the most however is the time she spent as a clerk at Gibsons. She was a warm and welcoming smile and a friend to all. She had a positive impact and touched many lives. She will be deeply missed.

Katie found a second home in her friends of AA. The Alano club and Group #1 were very important to her. You could always count on seeing her at a meeting every day. Come rain or shine, she was there for those who needed her and they were always there for her as well.

Survivors include her daughters Noeline Miller-Chestnut of Salina, Anita Morris (Kevin) of Salina; and son David Miller of Evansville, Indiana; 10 grandchildren, Tina Zahn (Nathan), Tiffany Martin (Kevin), Aubrey Miller, Amber Morgan (Robin), Tiana Welsh, Adam Miller, Traci Goldsberry, Samantha Goalden, Kyle Miller, Caleb Miller; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her brother Dean Buttermore (Deanna), of North St. Paul, Minnesota; and three sisters, Racine Lynn of Arkansas City, Kansas, Sylvia Carter (Paul), of Bacliff, Texas, and Edith Schriner of Salina, Kansas.

She is preceded in death by her husband Wayne Brubaker; infant son Don Miller; son Carl Miller; daughter Karen Rowson; infant grandson Daniel Miller; brothers Keith Buttermore, Pat Buttermore; and sister Janice Tandrich.

Katie was always such a caring and generous person. She never knew a stranger and would help anyone she could. You could always find a smile and a warm hug in her presence. She adored her grandchildren and spoiled them all. Her family was so very important to her. We will miss you so very much, Mom. We know you are now standing with the Lord and the pain and confusion is gone. We love you!

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 2 at Salina First Church of the Nazarene, 1425 S. Ohio St., Salina.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society or the Salina Animal Shelter, sent in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, Kansas 67401.
