David N. Giebler
August 12, 1952 ~ June 21, 2024

David N Giebler, a resident of Hiawatha, Iowa, formerly of Hays, Kansas, passed away at home on June 21, 2024. He was born on August 12, 1952, in Hays, Kansas, to Celestine “Celly” and Mary (Kroner) Giebler.

In October 1977, he married Colleen Rae Ferguson in Hiawatha, Iowa.

David graduated from Hays High School in 1970 and from the Central Institute of Technology in Kansas City, Missouri, in 1972 with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Electronics Engineering Technology. David retired from Rockwell Collins after 33 years as an electrical technician.

David enjoyed his cats and was an active volunteer of the Iowa Humane Alliance. He enjoyed tinkering with his hot rod cars and even raced them in his younger years.

David is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Colleen in 2010.

David is survived by his stepdaughter Anne Andrews (Bill Fleisher) of Alexandria, Virginia, and stepson Scott (Joy) Andrews of Huxley, Iowa; six grandchildren; sister Shirley (Earl) Brungardt of Hays, Kansas, brother Larry Giebler of Victoria, Kansas, brother Rick (Marilyn) Giebler of Hays, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

David’s wish was to have a burial in Kansas.

Private gravesite services will be held at a later date.
