
WICHITA – Cole Sands pitched six scoreless innings and Leobaldo Cabrera drove in three runs to lead the Wind Surge to a 6-2 over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.
Starter Cole Sands had arguably one of best outings of the year. He would finish his day with six complete innings, allowing no runs on one hit, two walks, and five strikeouts. This marks his second quality start with the Surge this season and improves his overall record to 3-2 with an ERA of 2.63.
D.J. Burt remained red hot in today’s game, including hitting his third homerun of the year, and his second in as many days. He would finish the game 2-4 with a single and two runs scored. Cabrera would also flash his power this afternoon with a towering home run to left field, his second of the series. Cabrera would finish his night 2-4 with a single and three RBI. The Wind Surge offense would finish the afternoon with ten hits.
Left-hander Kody Funderburk came in for relief of Sands. He would allow an early walk and home run in the seventh, however from that point went on to retire the remaining nine Naturals. Funderburk finished his afternoon with three complete innings, allowing two runs on one hit, one walk, and three strikeouts.

D.J. Burt extended his hitting streak to eight games. Roy Morales extended his hitting streak to five games. Ernie De La Trinidad extended his hitting streak to four games. The Surge split the series with Naturals.
