Oakdale literacy coach to lead Bennington Grade School

BENNINGTON - A literacy coach in Salina USD 305 has been named the new principal for Bennington Grade School.

Twin Valley USD 240 this morning announced that Tricia McVay will be the principal at Bennington Grade School effective July 1.

Currently the literacy coach at Oakdale Elementary School, McVay has served USD 305 as a teacher, elementary summer school program director, and an instructional coach for the past nine years. Prior to moving to Kansas, she was an educator in the Fort Worth and Eagle Mountain-Saginaw school districts in north Texas. McVay has worked in education for 20 years, USD 240 noted.

"It is an honor to become a member of the Bulldog family, and I look forward to partnering with staff and families to serve our students and out community," McVay said.

McVay has an associate of arts in education and basic studies degree from Seward County Community College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Kansas, and a Master of Science in educational leadership from Kansas State University.
