⚽️ KWU WSOC drops home opener 4-1 to Hastings

Kansas Wesleyan Women's Soccer played its first home match of the season on a hot Wednesday night at JRI Hospitality Stadium at the Graves Family Sports Complex.

The Coyotes would fall to the Hasting Broncos 4-1.

Wesleyan fell behind in the 17th minute on a goal by Hastings by Madison Rhodes.

In the 26th minute the Coyotes got the equalizer by Brooklyn Velotta. Velotta went 1 on 1 with the Hastings goalkeeper and slid the ball between her feet towards the far post and in to tie things up.

The score would remain tied 1-1 for the rest of the half.

Hastings scored three second half goals to pull away, including two more by Rhodes less than three minutes apart, and one final goal by Sophia Lee in the 89th minute.

KWU was outshot 11-7 in the match. Both teams had five on-target shots. Velotta led the way with three shots.
