Salina Regional Health Foundation has awarded $22,000 in Community Health Investment Program (CHIP) funds to support eight projects aimed at improving the health and development of children within Salina’s Public Schools.

“We are so thankful for this tremendous gift to the students of USD 305. Funds will be utilized to facilitate programs and projects which positively impact the health and development of our students. Projects like, ‘Breakfast for Success’ ensure that students have a healthy start to each school day and the ‘Nurses’ Emergency Funds’ address critical health needs quickly, so that students can focus on learning,” said Salina Education Foundation’s Executive Director Michael Chambers.

Salina Regional Health Foundation’s CHIP program provides grants to organizations that, like the hospital, are working to improve the health of people in north-central Kansas.

Tom Martin, Salina Regional Health Foundation executive director said, “We are pleased to be able to support the Salina Education Foundation and USD 305 in their efforts to help each student reach his or her full potential.”
