Lee Eugene Morey was born on January 25, 1940, at the home on the family farm, northeast of Mahaska, Kansas. He was the third child of Ward G. and Retha E. (Alderman) Morey.
Lee graduated in 1958 from Haddam High School. Following high school, he attended Fairbury Junior College. Lee worked for various locations as a butcher as well as an over-the-road trucker. He also owned/operated his own farm for his lifetime.
He was united in marriage to Margaret Joyce Ketterer on September 3, 1960. God gave this marriage four children: Franklin Lee, Dianna Lynn, Donald Lawrence and Margaret Ann.
Lee passed away on February 1st, 2022, at his home in Concordia, at the age of 82 years.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Margaret Ann, his granddaughter Shaylynn Lee Morey, his parents Ward and Retha, sister Margery Strnad, and brother Joseph Ward Morey.
He is survived by his wife Joyce of the home, son Franklin Morey (Sara) of Hillsboro, daughter Dianna Zukowske (Mark) of Manhattan, son Donald Morey (Monica) of Salina, grandchildren Kashaya Zukowske (Temetrius Robinson), Dermot Morey, Connor Morey, Claire Morey, sister Retha Mae Parrack of Fairbury, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville.
Rosary / vigil services will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Tibbetts-Fischer, and the family will greet friends following the vigil services.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 11, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Edward Catholic Church in Belleville, with Fr. Henry Baxa and Fr. John Wolesky officiating.
A private family committal will be held at a later date, at St. Peter and St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, rural Morrowville.
Memorials are requested to the Tammy Walker Cancer Center or Meadowlark Hospice, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
