Gary L. Plunkett, 70, Minneapolis, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021. He was born June 18, 1951, to Leslie and Dorthea Plunkett.
Gary served in the National Guard from 1970-76 and served on the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department from 1973-74. He owned and operated Plunkett Plumbing and Heating beginning on January 1, 1980. Due to health issues, he closed the business on September 5, 2021.
He and Dawnie (Merry) Hauck were united in marriage on March 27, 2006.
Survivors are his wife, Dawnie; children, Matthew Plunkett and Marsha (John) Beauchamp; stepchildren, Chad Hauck, Jon (Brandie) Hauck, and Jeff (Nicole) Hauck; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation (family will not be present) will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 28 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467. Graveside services will be at 9:00 a.m., Monday, November 29 at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis. Everyone is invited for coffee and cinnamon rolls at the V.F.W. after the services – this was Gary’s request.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Beta XI Gift Tree and may be left in care of the funeral home.
