MARION -Marion has it all this weekend: chili, car show, cornhole.

The 16th Annual Chili Cook Off will take place at the Marion County Lake Hall on Oct. 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Competitors must pay a $15 entry fee. Participants who would rather taste the competing chilis than participate in the contest must pay $5 for a tasting kit.

Winners of first, second, and third places will receive $100, $50, and $35, respectively. Anyone interested in participating in the cook-off needs to fill out a competitor's form at the Marion Lake office. The Marion Lake Office is located at 1 Office Dr, Marion, KS.

This Saturday is also the 9th Annual Marion Car Show. There are four categories of vehicles available for competition: cars, trucks, motorcycles, and beaters. It begins at 10:00 a.m. Entry is free. Grand prizes will be awarded to class winners and door prizes to entries.

After the Chili Cook Off awards ceremony, there will be the 13th Annual Cornhole Tournament. A $10 individual fee and a $20 team fee are required for participation in the cornhole tournament. A bake sale will also be part of the day's festivities, offering a variety of deserts and drinks. For more information check out the Facebook event
