(NAIA POLL RELEASE) Kansas Wesleyan Baseball is ranked No. 12 in the GoRout NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll released on Wednesday by the NAIA National Office.
The Coyotes jumped five spots from the last poll from No. 17 in the last poll to No. 12 in the new poll.
The No. 12 ranking is the highest ever for the Coyotes dating back to at least 1998. KWU was ranked No. 12 in last season's Preseason Poll.
Taylor (Ind.) was minted the new No. 1 team in the land, as previous No. 1 ranked LSU-Shreveport fell to No. 4 in the rankings. Georgia Gwinnett held solid at the No. 2 position, while Bellevue (Neb.) moved into the No. 3 spot. Johnson (Tenn.) held steady at No. 5 but is now tied with Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) at No. 5.
Texas A&M-Victoria made one of the biggest jumps of the week, going from receiving votes to No. 10, while Indiana Southeast enters the poll this week at No. 23. Movement continues throughout the rankings, including a strong rise from Doane (Neb.), climbing from No. 23 to No. 16.
