Storms roll through area dropping substantial rain

Rain was plentiful as storms rolled through the area Wednesday night and early this morning.

At the Salina Regional Airport, 1.20 inches of rain was reported for the 24-hour period that ended at 7 a.m. Additionally, in southeast Salina, near the Eagle Radio studios, 1.50 inches was reported.

With the rain came strong winds. At 6:53 p.m. Wednesday, Salina Regional Airport reported sustained winds at 45 mph with gusts to 59 mph.
