Kansas Wesleyan baseball continued its winning streak on Saturday as the Coyotes beat the Ottawa Braves 15-1 in a run-rule-shortened game on Saturday at Dean Evans Stadium.

The victory boosted Wesleyan's win streak to 13 games heading into Sunday's doubleheader between the teams.

It will also be the final home games of the season for the Coyotes.

A couple of first innings errors allowed Ottawa to get on the board and take an early 1-0 lead.

After that, KWU started Tyler Triano (SR/Hollister, Calif.) settled in and held Ottawa to just one hit the remainder of the game.

Meanwhile the Wesleyan offense got things going.

William Dryburgh (SR/St. Joseph, Mo.) led off the Coyote first hit by a pitch, and later scored when Dustin Sipe (SR/Aztec, N.M.) reached on a fielder's choice but an error on the play allowed Kendall Foster (SR/Prosper, Texs) to score on the play tying the score. Two batters later Zack Beatty (JR/Maple Park, Ill.) doubled into the howling wind blowing in from left field, and then Jarrett Gable (SR/Colleyville, Texas) launched a 3-run homer to right field to put the Coyotes up 4-1.

Three more came across for the Coyotes in the second. Zach Olson (JR/Red Deer, Alberta) led off the inning with a homer to right, and after Dryburgh was hit again, Foster singled to score Dryburgh. Sipe then reached on a fielder's choice and error and after the Coyotes loaded the bases, Gable walked to force in a run.

Wesleyan got out of danger in the third as Triano got the Braves to end the inning on a double play.

The Coyotes didn't score again until the fourth. Haydn Brown (SR/Gardnerville, Nev.) launched a ball out to right for two runs bringing in Foster who led off the inning with a single. Kevin Esquilin-Cruz (SR/Trujilo Alto, Puerto Rico) and Olson then had back-to-back run-scoring singles and Jackson Newman (JR/Bixby, Okla.) drove in a run on a fielder's choice.

Gable brought in two more runs in the bottom of the fifth for the Coyotes with a double that scored Brown and Sipe, and Esquilin-Cruz brought in a third run with a sacrifice fly.

Gable was 3-for-3 and drove in six runs for the Coyotes, while Foster and Olson had two hits each for the Coyotes. Triano needed just 88 pitches to go the distance, holding Ottawa to two hits with eight strikeouts.

The teams will conclude the series on Sunday with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. at The Dean.
