Jo Anne Marie "Jo" Olson, 68, of Salina, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022. She was born in Jacksonville, NC on August 2, 1953 to Mary and William Salvie.
She lived her childhood years in the San Diego area and graduated from Santana High School in Santee, CA. In her 20s, she moved to Houston where she worked for 27 years at an engineering firm and a valve supply company. She married her husband, Randy Olson, in Houston in 2004. She was an active member of St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in Houston.
Jo and Randy moved to Erie, CO in 2005 and lived there until retiring and moving to Salina in 2018. She enjoyed family trips, Kansas State sports, and an occasional camping or hiking trip with her husband. She also had an enduring love for her three dogs whom she called her children.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Randy, brother William Salvi and sister-in-law Susan Dinauer of Madison, WI, brother-in-law John Olson of Dallas, and nieces Nelia Salvi and Livia Salvi, both of Chicago.
A memorial service will be held in the spring, date to be determined. Memorials may be designated for Salina Animal Services, 329 N. Second St., Salina, KS 67401.
