The classic comedy-thriller Arsenic and Old Lace will be performed during upcoming Homecoming Week activities at Kansas Wesleyan University.
Public performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14 and 15 and 2 p.m. Oct. 17 in Fitzpatrick Auditorium in Sams Hall of Fine Arts on the KWU campus.
A huge Broadway hit in the 1940s, this black comedy farce focuses on the Brewster sisters, a spinster couple who have taken to dispatching lonely old men and having them buried in their cellar by their insane brother who thinks he's President Theodore Roosevelt digging the Panama Canal. Add to the mixture an hysterical drama critic, an alcoholic surgeon and a murderous older brother whose botched plastic surgery causes him to look like horror film star Boris Karloff, and the stage is set for multiple laughs and thrills.
