Patricia “Pat” L. Nippert, 71, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, surrounded by her family at her home in Manhattan, KS.  Pat was a lifelong Reading Specialist for multiple educational grade levels and retired from McPherson EMS. 

Pat was born on September 26, 1951, in Wichita, KS, the daughter of Gail Edward and Marjorie Emma (Jenetzky) Stauffer.  She graduated from Wichita North High School, McPherson College (BS), and Wichita State University (MS).  On December 18, 1971, Pat was united in marriage to Ward A. Nippert in Wichita, KS.  This union was blessed with two children, Jesse and Heather.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, where she was the librarian and treasurer for the Ruth Heimer DWF.  She was also a member of the Kansas Reading Association, KSEMS Association, and Kansas Good Sam’s, where she was the treasurer of the state organization.  She volunteered at Save N Share, McPherson Museum, and McPherson Emergency Medical Service (prior to having a paid position). 

Survivors include her loving husband of 51 years, Ward Nippert of Manhattan, KS; son, Jesse (Anna) Nippert of Wamego, KS; daughter, Heather (Daniel) Dannahower of Fort Collins, CO; six grandchildren, Kalea Nippert, Miah Dannahower, Kyra Nippert, William Dannahower, Lucia Nippert, and Livia Nippert; and a brother, James Stauffer of Elkhorn, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A time of remembrance (come & go) will take place from 3:00 p.m. until 5 p.m., with a time of sharing occurring at 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 2, at the First Christian Church, McPherson, with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Nature Conservancy of Kansas, the First Christian Church, or McPherson Public Library in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
