Voter registration deadline for primary election is July 12

The 2022 primary election is less than a month away, and if you haven't yet registered to vote you still have a bit of time.

The voter registration deadline for the Aug. 2 primary is 8 p.m. July 12.

Not sure whether you're registered? You can check your registration at myvoteinfo.voteks.org/VoterView.

When you do, you can find out where you are supposed to vote and see sample ballots. You also can see the various districts you are in, including county commission, judicial, Kansas House and Senate, and school, as well as what your precinct is. You also can see a list of which elections you have voted in over the past several years.

If you haven't yet registered, but want to vote in the Aug. 2 primary election, be sure to register by 8 p.m. July 12.

You can register online at kdor.ks.gov/Apps/VoterReg/Default.aspx if you have a current Kansas driver's license or Kansas non-driver's identification card.

You also have the following options if you don't want to or cannot register online.

●Print out the Voter Registration Application, complete, sign and mail or hand deliver application to the Saline County Election Office, 300 W. Ash Street, Room 215, Salina, KS 67401.

●Fax the completed and signed application to (785) 309-5826.

●Scan the completed and signed application then email to Voter Registration Coordinator.

While you do not need to register as a Democrat or Republican to vote on the proposed Kansas Constitutional amendment concerning abortion, you do need to declare a party affiliation to vote in the other primary races.

Following is the official list of 2022 candidate filings for Saline County, courtesy the Saline County Elections Office website. Offices for which there is more than one candidate from a particular political party will be on that party's ballot for the primary election.
