🏀 Will Tuttle hits 1,000 career points as Sacred Heart sweeps SES at home

The hot shooting Lady Knights started things off strong with an impressive 51-44 win over the Lady Trojans, and the Knights finishing the evening by rolling the Trojans 58-38.

Girls: Sacred Heart 51 Southeast of Saline 44

The Lady Knights coming off a strong finish of the Trojan Classic, knew what was at stake tonight. The Lady Knights would force 5 first quarter turnovers and make it difficult for the Lady Trojans to get things rolling, Sacred Heart would lead 16-9 end of the first quarter. Adjustments were made for Southeast only allowing 6 in the second for the Lady Knights, but Sacred Heart managed the lead and was on top at intermission 22-21.

Addie Lee would start connecting and leading the Lady Knights throughout the third quarter, she finished the quarter with 8 and the Lady Knights would extend their lead to 5 and lead 39-34 going into the final quarter of play. There were two things this game came down to, the one that finished the strongest, and the one that won from the free throw line. The Lady Knights shot 7-8 from the free throw line led by Skylar Douglas. The Lady Knights would stay on top and be victorious 51-44.

In the victory the Lady Knights were led by Skylar Douglas she finished with 26 and Addie Lee compiled 11.

Southeast of Saline was led in scoring by Kyiah Samuelson she finished with 14 in the defeat.

The Lady Knights move to 15-3 overall and 6-1 in league play, Southeast of Saline drops to 13-4 overall 5-3 in league play.

The Lady Knights will hit the road as they continue league play on Friday against Minneapolis.

Boys: Sacred Heart 58 Southeast of Saline 38

The Knights came out locked in on defense, only allowing one field goal in the first quarter and would lead 12-4 at the end of the first quarter. Dominance would continue defensively only allowing 12 first half points. The efforts though led in scoring by Dominic Matteucci he had 17 in the second quarter, Sacred Heart would lead 39-12 at intermission.

After a strong start to the first half, The Knights stalled a little in the third quarter only hitting 8 points but would maintain the lead and be on top 47-21 at the end of the third. Southeast gave it everything they could in the fourth, but the Knights were there to defend and win 58-38.

The Knights were led in scoring by Dom Mattecci he finished with 19, Kolten Sprague with 11, and Will Tuttle finished with 10 and also hit 1,000 career points.

Southeast was led in scoring by Isaiah Kejr, he ended up with 14.

The Knights move to 16-2 overall 7-0 in league and continue league play on Friday with a road trip to Minneapolis to take on the Lions.
