A number of local and area Fourth of July weekend celebrations are scheduled in the coming days.
FRIDAY
Lincoln After Harvest Music Festival
A fundraiser for the Lincoln Art Center, the After Harvest Music Festival is scheduled for 7-10 p.m. Friday at the Lincoln Golf Course. The event will include live music, a potluck picnic, and fireworks. Ticket at the gate are $20, with children ages 12 and under $5, according to information on the Lincoln Art Center Facebook page.
Burgers, hot dogs, and potluck dishes will be served during the picnic, which begins at 7 p.m. Participants are asked to brign a potluck dish. Additionally, a beer garden and bottled water will be available at the gazebo.
Mattson & Weaver are scheduled to perform at 7 p.m., with The Good Sam Club Band scheduled for 8 p.m.
SATURDAY
Waconda LakeFest and Fireworks
LakeFest is a fundraiser by the Waconda Cultural Association for state park projects. LakeFest 2022 is scheduled for Saturday in Glen Elder State Park on the north shore of Waconda Lake in Mitchell County.

Marion County Lake celebration
The Marion County Lake Fireworks and Cruise Around the Lake is set for Saturday. The event is open to the public at no charge, according to information on the Marion County Park and Lake Facebook page.
Cruise around the lake in your favorite vehicle or cart beginning at 7 p.m. The fireworks show begins at dark.
Celebration in Galva
The Galva Firecracker 5K and Festival kicks off with the 5K run/walk. Registration is at 6:30 a.m. Saturday with the race starting at 7:30 a.m. in Lynn Baldwin Memorial Park, 100 Northview. The race day registration fee is $30, according to the Firecracker 5K and Festival Facebook page.
Other activities during the celebration include a softball tournament, a water slide, corn hole tournament, and food, with a free fireworks display at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Clay Center celebration
Clay Center's Independence Day Celebration is scheduled for Sunday at the Clay County Fair Grounds.

Herington Independence Day Celebration
Herington plans to celebrate on Sunday beginning at 5 p.m. The South Park Party in the Park is to include a BBQ meal, touch-a-truck for the kids, and live music entertainment, and is to end with big bang over Herington, according to an event post on the Herington Fireworks Committee Facebook page.
MONDAY
SkyFire in Salina
In Salina, SkyFire 2022 is scheduled for 10 p.m. Monday at the Berkley Family Recreational Area, 841 Markley Road, according to information on the Breakfast Bandits AMBUCS website.
The event will open at 5 p.m. Monday, with free parking and tailgating east of Markley Road and $20 per vehicle VIP parking in the Salina Municipal Golf Course parking lot.
A variety of food trucks will be available. Bounce-A-Roos will be onsite from 6-9 p.m. in both parking locations.
Vintage planes are scheduled to fly over at 5:30 p.m.
Additionally, King Midas & The Muflers are scheduled to play a pre-fireworks concert from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Salina Municipal Golf Course. Persons parking in the general admission area east of Markley Road are welcome to walk over to see the concert at no charge.
A full Fourth of July in Abilene
Independence Day activities in Abilene fill the day and go into Monday night, according to information from Visit Abilene.
Activities for Abilene's Old Fashioned Fourth of July in Eisenhower Park include the following.
Registration opens at the large shelter house near the basketball courts at 7 a.m. and closes 15 minutes prior to event start.

An Old-Fashioned Fourth of July in Lindsborg
Lindsborg's Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, including fun, food, and local entertainment, is scheduled for Monday in Swensson Park. All events are open to the public at no charge, according to information from the Lindsborg Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Beginning at 5 p.m., children and families are invited to meet at the gazebo in Swensson Park, located in the 400 block of North Main, to decorate strollers, wagons, bikes, etc., for the Patriotic Parade that will kick-off the evening's program.
The Lindsborg Lions Club will be offering concessions for purchase starting at 5 p.m.
A patriotic program is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in the bandshell and includes several local and regional performers, from twirlers to dancers to musicians.
Finally, the Lindsborg Community Band is scheduled to play, ending festivities by 8:30 p.m.
A McPherson Fourth
McPherson plans to celebrate beginning at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Wall Park, 500 S. Maxwell. The band Petty Cash is scheduled to perform from 7:30-9:30 p.m. According to information on the McPherson Chamber of Commerce website, there will be free Sno-cones, free face painting and temporary tattoos, and free Glow Bracelets for the kids from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The fireworks are to start at dark.
A longstanding Fourth of July tradition
The 101st Annual Peabody 4th Fireworks Extravaganza is scheduled for 9 p.m. Monday in Peabody City Park, according to information from the Peabody Fourth Fest Facebook page. Other activities for Peabody's Fourth of July celebration in Peabody City Park include the following.
