Sacred Heart Welcomes Ellsworth to Salina for Senior Night

Sacred Heart will be recognizing a total of 12 seniors from the boys and girls teams that will be playing their final regular-season home game on Tuesday night.

Both teams will also be playing with substate bracket seeding in mind as well.

Girl's game: Sacred Heart (12-7, 4-5) vs. Ellsworth (9-10, 2-7)

The Lady Knights held off the Lady Bearcats in their first meeting at Ellsworth. Despite Sacred Heart leading 20-10 at the end of the opening eight minutes, Ellsworth hung around and trailed 26-22 at halftime and 37-30 after three quarters. The Lady Knights kept just enough distance to go on for a 45-36 win.

Avery Eshleman, Sydney Goetz, Rosie Torres, Maegan Torrey, and Katie Weiss are the five seniors on the Sacred Heart roster.

Tip-off for the girl’s game is set for 6:00 pm from Salina.

Boy's game: Sacred Heart (16-3, 6-3) vs. Ellsworth (16-3, 7-2)

In the first meeting between Ellsworth and Sacred Heart, the Bearcats jumped out to a 17-9 advantage after the opening quarter and led 28-18 at halftime.

Heading into the final period down 35-24, a 13-1 run by the Knights gave them what turned out to be their only lead in the game at 37-36. However, Ellsworth ended the game on an 8-0 run of its own to go on for the win.

Luca Adami, Evan Bogart, Max Ehrlich, Michael Matteucci, Jason Marrs, Jett Samuelson, and Walker Tuttle are the seven outgoing seniors for the Knights.

Tip-off for the boy’s game is set for 7:30 pm from Salina.
